We all walk our own path, gaining wisdom through experience as we go, whilst recognising the gifts of our ancestors. In celebration of ourselves, Emma and Poppy will host a gentle and nourishing day in the Stargazer, allowing you to create your personal journey shield, along with incense and smudge bundles.

A journey shield is made from hide and willow and is emblematic of your life’s path, your growth and identity. It’s used for commemorative purposes, for reflection, for accompaniment during meditation or journeying and as an alter or decorative piece. It’s created with items that celebrate your own journey, perhaps marking special moments or achievements, and it can also honour your ancestors.

Hide (deer), willow and henna will be provided and you will be asked to bring your own small items to add; for example, a shell or a feather or a bead from a special time or place, some colourful ribbon, or other things that make you feel connected to the sacredness that you are. Hag stones, charms, bones - whatever is totemic to you.

You’ll also make loose incense and a smudge bundle (smudging is the use of fragrant smoke for cleansing or blessing) from natural, locally gathered ingredients and be able to enjoy your creations at home, with all materials provided.

Important Information

The experience includes light refreshments. There’ll be breaks during the day and you'll need to bring your own lunch and a chair to sit on.

You’ll spend the day in our beautiful Stargazer bell tent, tucked away in rural north Norfolk, surrounded by meadow, woodland, magpies and hares. Our site has parking and toilets.
